London Stay: Day 1

I had reached Heathrow around 1:30pm UK time. Encountered some trouble at immigrant as I had not fully filled up the white card. Had to leave Teck Hong's contact with the immigrant people.

Successfully walked out and met up with Lisa's family. I was so relieved and happy to see them. Both my nephew and niece had grown. Natalie had initially been shy and when she spoke, I had a hard time understanding what she is saying as her accent is so strong.

My nephew "Benjamin" and niece "Natalie"

We then took a London Underground (the "tube") to a place where we boarded a bus. The bus stopped at an overland station where we took to reach clapham Junction. From there we walked to Teck Hong's car to reach their home. It seems complicated. Luckily they came to fetch me else I do not know what to do.

This day I did not go out. I rested at their home and slept at 9pm UK time.

P.S. I discovered my camera spoilt on day 1. If you notice, you will see that the photos are a bit discolored. Let just treat it as artistic and this was the last bad thing that happened to me on this trip.

Those days before my London Trip

Day 1 : 19 Oct
I was supposed to fly on this date. So excited. I bought all gifts and packed the luggage over night. I had planned to work in the morning and go to airport in the afternoon.

In the morning, I received an IM from a colleague asking me "How come you are still in office?". I replied my flight is in the evening, why shouldn't I be in office. He said "Check your ticket". I panic and checked on the ticket. It's a shock to me. My ticket showed 0745. The time was 9:50am at that moment. Then I realised I had missed my flight. My tear nearly rolled out.

I quickly called Sway Muay (She's the one who helped me book my ticket). She had helped a lot. She gave me a few options: (1) To fly on 22nd Oct (Sun), 3am (2) To fly on 20th Oct (Fri), 7:45am (3) To cancel the tickets which will cost me $150 but will get back the ticket price. I was too upset to make a decision at that moment. I consulted many people on the options.

Guess what is my final decision?

The day before I fly: 21 Oct
I was so bored. I had been staying over at Dawn's home for the past two nights since the day of my horrific missed flight experience. I went back to office to finish up some work then joined June and Dawn at Marina Sq. When they told me they were all going for K Box, I had no mood. I went ahead to look for "Bau Kua".

Not too sure whether is it that I managed to find "Bau Kua" at Bugis. I felt better and went back to Marina Sq to join the rest for K Box. We took up the buffet package. Yummy... there were sashimi, one of my favourites. My stomach roared with satisfaction.

The day that I was in airport: 22 Oct, 3am
June and Dawn had dropped me at terminal 1 around 12midnight. At first, I couldn't find Qatar on screen. Thus, I had no idea which counter to checkin. At last moment, I managed to rush in.

After boarded the flight, I thought I can relax and sit back to watch a few good movies before the transit country, Doha. To my horror, I couldn't find the small tv screen infront of me. I looked infront, left and right and on top. I can only find a few tv screen afar. I nearly cried out: "Why are all these happening to me?"

Later, I found out from Qatar flight magazine that the airline had bought a few airbus A340 in early October. After checking my flight ticket, I was relieved that my flight from Doha to London is A340. Know why am I relieved? Airbus A340 has tv screen for each passenger. This is a very good new since last two days.

There I go, I was flying to Doha for 7hrs.

Time flies. One moment we were in Singapore. One moment we were at Cameron Highland. One moment we were at Malacca. Now we are back in Singapore again.

Let me introduce our Wheel For Fun Car Rally contestants:

Contestant No 1: Xiao Peng You
Our 1st car driver. Like to speed. That's why we met a traffic police uncle on the way to the Hotspring area.

Contestant No 2: Kopi
Our 1st car navigator. She is our Wang Shi Tong too. She served drinks and food during our journey. Also our backup driver. See... everything bao ka liao.

Contestant No 3: Friend of the Day
Our Day 1 sit in VIP guest.

Contestant No 4: Lao Da
Our 2nd car driver. Poor her. She's been driving all over Cameron and Malacca for all 4 days. Ah Mu, quick... give her good good massage!!!

Contestant No 5: Ah Mu
Our 2nd car navigator. For the whole car journey, heard that she's been feasting with Oink-San...

Contestant No 6: Oink-San
Our 2nd car idle. She's Ah Mu's feasting partner.

Contestant No 7: LFS
This is me. I was the tuplip reader, but always gave wrong direction. :p

Day 1
Stop over at Hotspring. Can't remember what is the hotspring name. Only remember we had a tough time driving in the narrow road. And the lunch was yucky... But we enjoyed the boiling and eating eggs process. Yes... we also managed to soak our legs in the hotspring... it feels good :)

Checkin hotel at Cameron
We had a hard times in the room. No water. No heater. Poor us.

Luckily we have Ah Mu. With her fierce stare, even the receptionist on the phone also felt her force, immediately changed room for us. Finally, after a long night battle with the receptionist, we had our water and heater.

Day 2
Queuing for Breakfast at Hotel.

First stop at Strawberry Farm.

Second stop at Teh plantation (The famous Boh)
Oink-San was showing the tea leaves that she rubbed. Suppose to give out teh smell.

Tell you all something... Shhh... actually those were no tea leaves. No wonder how ever we smell... no teh smell...

We had fun shopping at the Teh plantation. Bought a lot of 3-in-1 or 2-in-1 packs of Boh Teh back.

Third stop at Catcus farm
There were small, medium and big catcus... And it's very cheap. Can find one tiny pot for just RM2. We bought 6 such tiny pots for RM10.

Presenting Roses for June
It's June's Birthday. What a bouquet of beautiful roses...

Dinner at ballroom
We had steamboat for dinner. Yummy...
After the dinner, the organisers had arranged to put up Kong Ming Teng. It's amazing how such a light lantern-like thing can fly so high... I ponder...

Day 3
Today before driving to Malacca, we did some last minutes shopping. We managed to checkin the hotel. The hotel looks nice but the housekeeping service is bad.

For the night, we stopped at the Teo Chew Restaurant for our assumptuous dinner... Yummy... crabs crabs...

Day 4
We were going back to Singapore today. But before we went back, we went for last minutes shopping cum makan.

Clockwise from top left:

Later that day, my dad made up a whole big bowl of sweet potatoes... Too much... I told dad... but I still finish half... hee...

What a good food day!!!
