My Canon Camera is alive

I was extremely happy as I collected my camera today from the Canon service centre.
The best thing is the repair is free.
My camera was spoilt during my London trip.
At first, the screen was red, so I still could take some so-called "artistic" photos.
Then it started to show lines on screen. Finally, it blackout.

I then sent it for emergency treatment from Canon service centre.
The staff informed that my camera had the "known" defect that certain models faced, so it's service for free. :)

Our Car Treasure Hunt Trip

25 Feb 2006
It's such a memorable trip where we drove from KL to Malacca, running around for signboard answers. We even passed by Fong Kien's hometown.
A photos of that night's dinner.

Sunday morning with Beautician Mei Feng

I was Mei Feng's today first customer.
The moment I entered the shop located at Henderson, the following was done:

1) I layed on a bed.
2) Mei Feng covered me with a blanket. (Afraid I might catch cold)
3) She then covered my hair with a towel.
4) Next, she washed my face before streaming my face with hot air.
* In between, an auntie came in to ask for make-up. The auntie make-up so that she can meet her grandchild of few months. She must have loved her grandchild a lot.
* A little gossip: This auntie supposed to arrive 8:45am, but she arrive around 9:30am, giving the excuse she needed time to wait for taxi but in fact, she only stays few blocks away. Ha...

5) After the 10mins hot air streaming (* I nearly cried for help *), I can't breathe after so much hot air choked my nose. Luckily, Mei Feng came to the rescue.
6) The scary moment that soldier of blackheads most feared came. First, Mei Feng used her fingers to squeeze the *not so strong* blackheads (These blackheads must be those not exercising hard enough). Second, Mei Feng used a tweezer to fight those stubborn & strong blackheads. Finally, Mei Feng had gotten rid of those blackheads that are at frontline.
7) This was the moment that I enjoyed most. Mei Feng massaged my face skillfully. She even massaged my shoulder. So relaxing...
8) After the relaxing moment, Mei Feng geared up again to fight those blackheads that had embushed in my face. *Final touch*.
* At this moment, Mei Feng's second customer came in and chatted on how big her pimple had grown, etc.
9) Mei Feng then used something to electric my face. She explained it's to prevent skin infection. Anyway, it felt funny.
10) I was then put on a mask. When dried, Mei Feng peeled it off before applying toner, moisturiser & sunblock lotion.

This was my 1.5 hrs facial wash experience with Beautician Mei Feng.

A "Not So" Ordinary Saturday

I was woken by Hui this morning.
Our sms conversation:

Hui: "You wake up boh?"
Me: "Eyes slowly opening. My best friend is now BED"
Hui: "Slowly turn your best friend to me"
Me: "I bathed finish liao. Now my best friend is FOOD. Hee...

I arrived around 11am at Hui's workshop.
Our activities:
1) Had my car tires pumped. (* After pumping, I realised the differences. I feel I can fly my car. Ha...)
2) Discovered June still "mo" at home (* Not bath yet. *Yuke*).
3) I tempted Hui with my current favorite PSP.
4) We ate char siew & roasted meat rice. Yummy... June late so no have... Ha... (* The truth was Dawn's maid ate her rice by mistake)
We then waved goodbye to Hui's mummy and headed to Chai Chee.

We met up with June at Chai Chee carpark to attend Dawn's mum's funeral.

Our activities:
1) After a little discussion, we decided to take Hui's "water cow" to mandai.
2) June & I walked with the group along Chai Chee St till the end main road where the rest boarded a bus and we hopped on into "water cow".

3) Witnessed the funeral.
I must say Dawn was very brave. Dawn, we all support you and we will be there when you need us.

On our way back to Chai Chee, we got a so-called "SOS" call from Tricia. She told us of her plight: Car got a burnt smell. She had to top up water for her car and drive to workshop. We all laughed on it.
Then she called a second time to invite us to a spot near Bedok Reservoir where we could stop "water cow" to laugh at her. In "water cow", we were trying to get ideas on how to laugh at Tricia:
1) Stop "water cow" and LOL at her
2) Drive near her and wave at her before driving off
3) Drive near her and give her a victory sign before driving off
In the end, we stopped "water cow" and helped Tricia. What good friends we are... Tricia, you must be proud of yourself for having us as your friends.

The car that was in trouble (*SOS*)

We were R&R. Let Tricia called for help herself.

Hui to Tricia: Ok lah... Let me help you since you look so helpless.

Tricia: Now what? Sigh...

Tricia: How come there is a spanner inside???

Hui & June: Since we can't help much, let's eat. Hee...

Hui: I'm so tired. When is the workshop uncle arriving?

Look at the sky. Hui: I think we better leave without Tricia.

The workshop uncle arrived at the right time. His action was fast. He poured water in and drove quickly off to his workshop. Tricia then hopped into "water cow" and off we go to Chai Chee before the rain poured.

After lunch at Chai Chee, we then kipnapped Dawn to Siglap Cafe Cartel. By then Li Cheng (at Julie's baby full month celebration) tried to ask about Dinner. Series of sms conversation:
Li Cheng: Want to have dinner? But dun ask me where for dinner.

Me: We heading for a cup of kopi. Let you know dinner plan later.
Li Cheng: Where are you all now?
Me: We at Siglap Cafe Cartel. Wanna join us?
Li Cheng: I can only reach by 7pm. Can wait?
Me: We heading to Singapore Expo liao.
No more replies from Li Cheng... Also halfway through the sms, Hui & Tricia had left to pick up Tricia's car from workshop.

We (June, Dawn, Hui & myself) went Singapore Expo - Addidas and Popular sale. Met Sok Khim and her two daughters there. Surprise: *Thought Sok Khim had difficulties driving around* Ha...

The night ended with supper: We (June, Dawn, Li Cheng, Hui, Tricia & myself) all met up at Casuarina for roti prata. Yummy.... :)

I bought a PlayStation Portable

Recently I had bought a PSP (PlayStation Portable) which cost me around $350.
It came with a value pack which includes:
- Memory Stick Duo (32MB)
- AC Adapter, Battery Pack
- Headphones with Remote Control
- Pouch, Wrist Strap & Cloth
Mine is in black. There is another color: White.

Along with the PSP, I bought a game: Blade Dancer - Lineage of Light.
I was so hooked to the game that I played through the night till the PSP battery went flat (I checked my clock. It was 5am in the night).

Blade Dancer - Lineage of Light
Release Date: 18/7/2006
Developer: Hit Maker
Genres: Role-Playing (RPG)

Blade Dancer is a fantasy RPG featuring anime-style characters, animated movie sequences, full 3D visuals and network play.
Story - This world was once ruled by an evil emperor, until one courageous man stood against his dark ambitions. This was the Protector of Light, Blade Dancer Gerard. He drove the vile emperor to a lone island in the east. Here, the Blade Dancer disappeared when the dark lord unleashed his immortal henchman, the Dread Knight. With the Blade Dancer gone, who in all the world had such power? One thousand years have now passed. A lone warrior heads to that same island, unaward of its dark history. The boy, Lance, has come to test his mettle in combat. As he approaches, he dreams of a beautiful girl who calls to him for help.
Characters - Lance Bennet is an extrovert who can always be relied upon. He likes to say he's a master swordsman, but that self-evaluation may reflect the exuberance of his mere 17 years. Indeed, he has come to the island nation of Foo seeking to improve his skill with his weapon. Gozan is a descendent of the Holy Zalk, leaders among the Zalkan tribe. His clan's focus is the betterment of the whole, making him unusual in having a degree of respect for individuality. Felis is an Empath, a talented healer. While this ability makes her stand out, her friendly attitude helps her to mix easily with others as she travels the world. Tess is a mystery. She always seems insecure, perhaps because she has lost her memory. Even her name is not her own; it was given to her by Lance.
Features - Blade Dancer includes fully 3D fields, with a battle system slightly different from normal random encounter systems -- strike a beast, and you'll end up entering battle. One of the big elements of the game is its "Crafting System," where you combine items that you've collected into new items. The game stores recipes for you, although the more adventurous will want to try out their own creations. The game also features networking systems for up to four players to connect together.

Astor's flying back to Hong Kong

This afternoon, the whole gang (LC, June, Dawn, Hui, Henry, Jo, Raphael, Kris, Fai and Astor) arrived at Tricia's new place at Seng Kang. Here, we wondered will Tricia's neighbours be crying as they soon will realise they have a new noisy neighbour moving in. After the visit, we all split to go airport.

Both Dawn and June drove home to park their car. I drove back office to park. Hui picked all of us up to reach airport - Fish & Co.

While in the restaurant, we were the loudiest again. Who cares, as long as we enjoy one another's company :)

Photos taken in airport

Left: Raphael in 'not so good' mood. Right: Astor's flying off soon

After sending off Astor, we dropped by Crystal Jade - airport to have 'Cantonese' milk tea. Yum... Yum... After the tea break, we said good bye to Henry, Jo & Raphael. We then headed to Suntec where Hui & Tricia went straight for Motor show while the rest shopped around. Within two hours, Li Cheng had bought herself two skirts. Super fast speed... No wonder she can buy lots of goodies during few days' tours.

That night, we settled our dinner at 'Just Noodle'. I must praise the waitress. She was very hardworking, seeing that she was always on her move, be it serving guests, cleaning the tables or handing pamplets to passer-bys.

That's how we spent our Saturday.

GST going to increase?

While driving to work today, I overheard from FM93.3 that GST will be adjusted from 5% to 7%. GST had first started in 1994 at 3%. Then it was adjusted to 5% in 2004. Now Government is planning to adjust it to 7% and the announcement will be made in Feb 2007.

Sigh... guess there will be a lot of comments from elderly and poor people.

It's Keng Fai & Kristine's wedding today

Right after work, I rushed off to attend Fai & Kris' wedding. Luckily there was no jam at PIE, CTE & Havelock Exit. The only trouble that I had was how to get to Parkroyal (on Coleman Street). After exiting Havelock, I turned left. Along the way, I passed Coleman Street which is a one way street. I saw Parkroyal past me. :( I drove all over the places doing U-turn, turning left/right, etc and after half an hour, I finally drove into the carpark of the Hotel. What a relief!!!

Upon reaching the Grand Ballroom, I saw 3 beautiful ladies: Astor, Li Cheng & Tricia at the counter. The Bride Kristine looks gorgeous. She was greeting her guests. Another person that I wanted to specially mention was Hui. Astor commented she looks like 'Fu Tai'. Indeed, she lived up to this title. She was wearing leapord dress with make-up. What a change from her usual look...

When I got to my seat, I saw June and Dawn. Dawn, as usual, was showing her silly smile all the way. June was nervous as she was the MC for the night. I must comment: June, you did very well for the night.

There were old friends whom we had not met for ages: Graeme & wife, Kian Siong & wife, and Preston.

This night, it was also the first time Raphael attends wedding dinner. He was playing with Dad Henry & Mum Jo with all sorts of innovative toys that he could find on the table.

The dinner was good too, except for the dessert. I love the prawns. Yummy.

All in all, it was a lovely wedding. Congratulation to the newly web.

The wedding couple had an interesting site for RSVP. For those who might want to view the beautiful couple, click here: http://chaykengfai-kristinelye.weddingannouncer.com/
